Cheap Clobber (3)

Some more aquisitions..
A "harrington" style jacket and another pair of brogues. Both bought for 6 euros a Piece.  :-D
The jacket is a good find...as can be seen from the Label. The spanish subsiduary  of Burberrys  was closed down in 2010 but the clothes are still, if not with the Made in England Label, Burberrys.
Another pair of brogues. These are Italian made but the makers Name has been worn away. Leather uppers with man made soles, I was going to have a bash at "up-grading" them with a Patina effect but until I´ve tried it out on another less "nice looking" pair of shoes, I´ll use them for day-to-day.

Sweet Soul Music

Managed to get hold of 4 pretty good Soul CD´s..not the usual collection of tracks that are normally be found on such collections  and covering the years where my main Musical interest lays, the late 50´s to the mid 60´s. Not all the tracks are  necessarily what I´d  Label as purely Soul, there´s a mix of bee-bop and blues, but maybe the titel "Sweet Soul Music" is intended to be more inklusive..that any my idea of what is directly a Soul track differs from what others would call Soul..and visa - versa.
Shame I couldn´t get hold of the  Cd covering 1963

Cheap clobber (1)

It doesn´t have to cost a fortune, just ime, to find the right clothes to wear.
These three items, along with a rather nice Poloshirt and a scarf, I "discovered" at a local secondhand shop. The total Price I paid for them wouldn´t cover the cost of buying the Poloshirt new, let alone the rest of the kit.
3/4 length Trenchcoat made by Bugatti.-10 euros
Buttondown Shirt by Daniels and Korf - 1 Euro

 Bally scribe brogues- 8.50 euros.
I´ve had a pair of brogues in the past but nowhere near as nice looking as these (they Show up a bit red in the second photo) and after looking up the Price of getting a pair new, nowhere near as expensive.

60´s Haircuts - Female

Not all of the possible styles and not all of the possible variations, but a few.
The Flip, here worn by Dianna Rigg.  Mary Tyler Moore may have made the flip hairstyle famous through her appearance on "The Dick Van Dyke Show," but she was not the first to sport the look. During the 1930s, Katherine Hepburn wore a similar flip hairstyle, as did Joan Crawford.
The flip can be worn chin-length, shoulder-length or longer to achieve different looks. The flip hairstyle can be worn swept back away from the face, brushed across the face, or a combination with some select strands draping the face.
Jean Seberg and her "Urchin" hairstyle.

Although angular bobs were his signature in the early 1960s, Sassoon went even shorter in 1965 with the five-point cut on model Grace Coddington. A cropped helmet with a spike of hair at each ear and a w at the nape of the neck, the look could be styled with a simple shake of the head.
Vidal Sasoon and Mary Quant

Julie Driscoll and the "Pixie" style, also created by Sasoon in the 60´s. Pixie cuts were made famous by, among others,  Twiggy and Mia Farrow
The Ronettes with thier "Beehive" hairstyles, developed in 1960 by Margaret Vinci Heldt owner of the Margaret Vinci Coiffures  Chicago
Brigit Bardot and the "Bardot Ponytail" or the "Half-up-do" style.

A bowl cut, also known as a helmet haircut or a mushroom cut, similar to a "pageboy" cut worn mainly by men.

Made popular in the 60´s by Vidal Sasoon. A bob cut or bob.A short haircut for women (and occasionally men) in which the hair is typically cut straight around the head at about the level of the jaw-level, often with a fringe (or "bangs") at the front.

Cilla Black, Lulu, Julie Grant, Marianne Faithful, The Vernon Girls and other 60s celebrities

Dispelling the myth that mod Girls all had short hair and therefore looked like the Boys
